Review:
I quite enjoyed reading this book. I have read other books written by Mr. Riordan, namely the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, and how found his writing style, although lacking a bit in the vocabulary department, to be quite delightful. The first book in a series of ten written by seven different authors, Mr. Riordan introduces the intriguing characters of Amy and Dan Cahill and their au pair, Nellie Gomez, as they start their whirlwind adventure that spans continents as Amy and Dan try to beat their relatives to find all 39 Clues left behind by their powerful and influential ancestors. Not only did I enjoy reading the books, but the trading card game element and hidden puzzles for the reader also intrigued me. In the front cover of all the books are six cards with a code that can be entered in at the official game site to be added to your account. The cards will unveil hints to help you solve the puzzle of the 39 Clues alongside Amy and Dan, as well as offering extra puzzles and clues not mentioned in the books.
Who I'd Suggest This To:
Children, mostly. The series was aimed for elementary-aged children, and although I, as a 17 year old, have found it intriguing, I'm not so sure many others of my age or older would share my sentiments.
